Extracting Config Files from Juniper SA Devices

You can obtain your configuration from your Juniper SA device by using the web interface. You can do this by connecting to your device using a web browser and using HTTPS.
  1. Once authenticated, click on the "Import/Export" option under the "Maintenance" Tab on the left hand side of the interface.
  2. Now click on the "XML Import/Export" tab and then the "Export" sub option. Click the "Select all" button.

  3. Scroll back to the top of the screen and then click the "Export..." button, and save it to wherever you wish. The configuration is now ready for use with Nipper Studio.
NOTE :

If the operating system on your device is the JunOS Pulse OS, then you will need to do the following additional steps

  • Before Exporting your configuration, you need to de-select one option within the "EndPoint Security" section, as below. Untick the "ESAP" box within the "Host Checker" section.

  • Once the file has been saved, open up the XML file with your preferred text editor, and add the following line to the top of the configuration <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
